Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring near a well-attended southern California shoreline abruptly started spinning wildly, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Footage posted online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral near the shoreline then plunging near the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were âextracted safely from the crash siteâ following the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
