Prince William will represent the COP30 climate summit in South America in the coming weeks, as announced by palace sources.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event preceding the environmental conference, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belém.

Father and son were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting arranged together with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Dedication

The King has been a longstanding advocate of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America preceding the climate conference.

Royal sources have portrayed the Prince's participation at the next COP as taking on an crucial position in "environmental negotiations".

The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were welcomed participants featuring conservation experts, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.
