Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle You're Hoping For
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but that's not the only destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an vehicle customization option that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. However, if gamers will actually want to equip it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle the community is itching to drive, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
Although most gamers would absolutely enjoy to compete while driving The Homer—the famously flawed car the patriarch built personally in the 1991 episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the massive SUV, the enormous truck featured in season 10. Instead, fans will obtain the Simpsons' everyday well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since 1989. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an iconic element of the show. And for players who pay attention to the game's car hitboxes, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the only cosmetic from the series arriving in the game. This limited-time event will additionally feature a series of challenges to earn additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a press release, the missions will task players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance worthy of acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it appears players will also get rims featuring a TV showing the show's title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.

This event lines up with the major Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which includes a completely new playable area of Springfield, as well as a 30-day Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons event launches on Saturday, Nov. 1 and ends on Nov. 17.
