US Department of the Treasury Considers Unique $1 Trump Coin Featuring ‘Fight, Fight, Fight’ Wording

To mark the semiquincentennial of America's independence, the Treasury is contemplating the minting of a $1 coin showing President Trump with a clenched fist under an American flag and the words “fight, fight, fight”.

Historical Link

The phrase overtly refers to what Trump shouted following surviving an attempt on his life a few months before he won a second presidency.

Official Statement

US Treasurer Beach shared a concept of the coin on recently via social media, commenting: “This is genuine. These concepts honoring America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are real.”

The post – which highlighted another account discussing the coin concept – stated that Beach looked “eager to provide updates” after the conclusion of the government funding lapse that started after midnight Wednesday when opposition lawmakers demanding concessions on medical care and other funding matters declined to offer the approval necessary to pass a majority-backed funding bill.

Legislative Context

As reported, in 2020, at the close of his initial term, Trump signed bipartisan legislation empowering the Treasury head to release $1 coins during the year 2026 that are “symbolic of the United States quarter-millennial”.

Appearance Details

The front of the coin on whose concept Beach commented Friday displayed Trump’s portrait alongside “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and “1776–2026”.

The reverse referenced the effort to harm Trump at a political rally in Pennsylvania last year, when officials said a sniper injured Trump’s ear and hurt two others before being fatally shot by the US Secret Service.

Trump clenched his hand after the shooting – one of two assassination attempts for him as he won election for a second Oval Office term in 2024 – and yelled, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” with an American flag visible nearby.

Clarification

A response from a department official clarified that the proposal which Beach’s online update discussed was not the “definitive coin design”. But the response emphasized that “this concept reflects well the enduring spirit of our land and republic, even in the midst of major hurdles”.

Public Environment

Trump’s public support on overall has plummeted to unfavorable numbers, as his current term has cut medical safeguards and dietary support that benefits the needy, while also implementing import taxes that preceded a documented rise in consumer prices.

Furthermore, the administration has also deployed US soldiers into the urban centers of various municipalities, axed roughly $500 million in funding for immunizations such as the ones that helped end the coronavirus crisis, and struggled to address a controversy over his previous relationship with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
